Prior to joining Wilson | Blount Development, Whitt served as Development Manager in Raleigh for regional commercial and residential real estate development and homebuilding company, Blue Heel Development; Land Development Manager for Raleigh’s office of national homebuilder, NVR, Inc; Investment Analyst and Broker for international real estate services group, Avison Young; and Associate Development Manager for regional mixed-use real estate firm, Kane Realty Corporation.
Whitt brings to WBD over 19 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate, having managed the development and construction of more than 1.5 million square feet of retail, office, and industrial space, 2 hotel projects, 750 apartment units, and 2,500 single-family lots; having facilitated more than $150 million in commercial real estate transactions (as a CRE broker), and having appraised more than $200 million of commercial real estate.
Whitt obtained his undergraduate degree in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2004. He also completed UNC-Chapel Hill’s Carolina Business Institute in 2004. He holds North Carolina licenses as a General Building Contractor, Real Estate Broker, and Certified General Real Estate Appraiser.
Whitt has been involved with numerous trade organizations, including the North Carolina chapter of CCIM, the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Appraisal Institute, NAIOP, and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Whitt is an active member of White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh.
